JRID is a residential and small commercial space interior design firm doing work in Portland Oregon and the larger metro area, and will consider projects anywhere in the states.
She is passionate about helping her clients realize their own vision of beauty, organization and function. She brings, along with her 30 years of experience, natural optimism and enthusiasm to the design process.
Our Story
Her educational background is fine art and horticulture. Later, she trained with a group of design professionals at Lloyd Interiors in the early 80’s.
An enthusiastic traveler, she has spent many weeks exploring France, cycling in Spain and wandering through parts of Denmark and Norway. She used to make an annual pilgrimage to Sayulita, Mexico and has spent many delightful times in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Since Covid, she has re-ignited her life long love of the Oregon coast. She loves to cook for her friends, read great books and take long walks anywhere and is currently exploring the nuances of pastel painting.
Design Philosophy
Jennifer believes that a comprehensive knowledge of the elements of design allows for the flexibility needed for creative problem solving. She likes to have a plan in place but welcomes surprises. She strives to create finished spaces that are beautiful and reflective of the needs of her clients. One of most important aspects of her work is cultivating long lasting relationships with her clients.
